As Art Director at Australia’s best Mountain Bike Magazine, the design and layout of the printed page is just the beginning of the role. It’s more that just putting pictures and words on a page and more about trying to compliment the feelings and emotions that our contributors express through the design.
The print based campaigns from the glory days of the magazine have been a great way to develop skills in maintaining and evolving brand stories. From finding the balance between maintaining the brand guidelines of the Internationals and refining for local markets in brochures, catalogues and digital publishing platforms to creating a brand from scratch.
Under the expert guidance of the legendary Matt Holmes, I was given the opportunity to cut-my-teeth doing layouts for 2020 BMX magazine – Australia’s best BMX bicycle Magazine.
