A quick project for some merchandising for [R]evolution MTB Magazine. The client specified that they wanted something ‘feel good’ and yet still captured the brand story.
As Art Director at Australia’s best Mountain Bike Magazine, the design and layout of the printed page is just the beginning of the role. It’s more that just putting pictures and words on a page and more about trying to compliment the feelings and emotions that our contributors express through the design.
In conjunction with web banner and print based campaigns, the brand stories are followed up to the consumer databases with regular EDM’s. It’s a fun media to work with as you can measure it’s effectiveness.
The print based campaigns from the glory days of the magazine have been a great way to develop skills in maintaining and evolving brand stories. From finding the balance between maintaining the brand guidelines of the Internationals and refining for local markets in brochures, catalogues and digital publishing platforms to creating a brand from scratch.
Bicycle (product, print, merchandise, digital, P.O.P etc) graphic design has been the backbone of the majority of my design projects. Working closely with Product and Marketing managers, I have extensive working knowledge of liaising with vendors, factories and clients.
Developing digital campaigns and brand stories that compliment the print and athlete programmes.
